On December 25, 2025, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry sent congratulations to Metropolitan Nikodim of Severodonetsk and Starobilsk on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of his episcopal consecration. This was reported by the press service of the UOC.
In his address, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church noted the steadfastness of Bishop Nikodim, who, despite difficult circumstances, continues to serve the flock of the Severodonetsk Eparchy.
His Beatitude emphasized that the bishop "remains with his flock, sharing all the burdens of their earthly journey, strengthening and comforting those in need".
"You have become for many an image of the good shepherd, who does not abandon the entrusted flock even amidst the storm, but in humility and patience bears the cross of service, placing hope in God's mercy," the congratulatory message reads.
Metropolitan Onuphry called Bishop Nikodim's service a "living sermon of faith", shining with the light of hope for those around him.
"I prayerfully wish that the All-Merciful Lord strengthens Your Holiness in spiritual firmness, grants peace, health, and strength, so that you may continue to perform your service with dignity, bringing people the word of faith, hope, and love," he concluded.
As reported by the UOJ, a video of the shelled cathedral of Severodonetsk was published online.
