Pope on war in Ukraine: Stop and start negotiations

On July 31, 2022, talking about the war in Ukraine, Pope Francis said it was time to "stop and start negotiations," according to Vatican News.

After reading the Angel of the Lord Prayer in the Vatican's St. Peter's Square, the Roman pontiff said that during his trip to Canada, he "incessantly prayed for the attacked, tormented Ukrainian people, asking God to deliver them from the scourge of war."

In his opinion, "if you look at reality objectively – given the damage caused by the war every day not only to this population, but to the whole world – the only reasonable way out would be to stop and start negotiations."

“Let wisdom inspire concrete steps to achieve peace,” added the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Pope called on world leaders to negotiate because of the war in Ukraine.
