On December 26, 2025, with the blessing of Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh, an Olympiad for students of Sunday schools of the Zdolbuniv Deanery took place at the Holy Trinity Dermany Convent. Pupils from 21 Sunday schools took part in the event. This was reported by the press service of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC.
The Olympiad began with a common prayer and welcoming remarks by the Dean of the Zdolbuniv District, Archpriest Vasyl Nachev, and the head of the deanery’s Sunday school department, Archpriest Oleksandr Karpiuk. The participants’ papers were evaluated by clergy of the deanery who served on the jury. Each correct answer was awarded one point, a partially correct answer – half a point. One hour was allotted to complete the tasks.
According to established tradition, with the blessing of Abbess Veronika, a guided tour of the monastery was organized for the participants and conducted by the sisters of the convent. Afterward, the children and their accompanying adults were invited to a monastic meal.
Following the results of the Olympiad, the winners received monetary awards, while all participants were presented with certificates and sweet gifts. In addition, during the celebration of the Nativity of Christ, the prize winners will be awarded certificates from the deanery. The event concluded with a commemorative group photograph.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that students of the Kyiv Theological Schools visited children with cancer and brought them gifts.
