Chernihiv Eparchy cleric suspended from ministry

A cleric of the Chernihiv Eparchy of the UOC, Priest Oleksandr Yakovenko, has been suspended from priestly ministry. This was reported on December 27, 2025, on the Facebook page of the eparchial press service.

According to the published information, the rector of the Intercession parish in the village of Lavy (Sosnytsia Deanery), Priest Oleksandr Yakovenko, was suspended for defecting into schism.

As the UOJ previously reported, a cleric of the Mukachevo Eparchy was earlier suspended for violating his priestly oath.
