Metropolitan Pimen performs monastic tonsure at Horodok Convent of Rivne

On January 1, 2026, Metropolitan Pimen performed a monastic tonsure in Rivne on the eve of the night Divine Liturgy. This was reported by the press service of the Rivne Eparchy.

The rite of tonsure for the novices Ariadna and Anastasia was performed at the St. George's Metochion of St. Nicholas Horodok Convent. Novice Ariadna (Tykhomyrova) received the name Melania, and novice Anastasia (Tytenko) received the name Arsenia. The bishop congratulated the nuns on this important event, wishing them spiritual strength, humility, and constant prayer.

As reported by the UOJ, a monastic tonsure was performed for the novices of the monastery in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The sacrament was performed on the day of commemoration of Sts. Anthony and Theodosius, the founders of the monastery.

The abbess of the monastery, Mother Superior Mikhaila, tearfully congratulated the new residents, calling them a gift from God for the monastic community. She thanked the parents of the nuns for the Christian upbringing of their daughters.
