On December 31, 2025, a charity auction took place at the Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida during a New Year's reception, where a portrait of Jesus Christ was sold. Donald Trump participated as an auctioneer, attracting the attention of guests and maintaining a high pace of bidding, reports Meaww News.

The auction featured a painting created by American artist Vanessa Horabuena. Before the bidding began, she painted the face of Christ on a black canvas in a live performance format within a few minutes, which sparked particular interest among the evening's guests.

The starting price of the work was 100 thousand dollars, but during the auction, the amount quickly rose to 2.75 million dollars. During the auction, Trump noted that he was ready to sign the painting if the bids continued to rise, which, according to the media, became one of the factors influencing the participants' activity.

As a result of the auction, the portrait was sold for 2.75 million dollars. All proceeds, as reported, will be directed to charitable purposes, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the local Sheriff’s Department.
