In Chernivtsi, drafters detain UOC cleric

TRC employees detained a cleric of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC – Archpriest Mykola Syniuk. This was reported by believers on Facebook on January 7, 2026.

The faithful request to intensify prayers for Father Mykola, a cleric of the Presentation Monastery in the city of Chernivtsi.

Orthodox Bukovynians also ask for prayers for Priest Fedor Hnytetskyi, who had been detained by drafters earlier.

As the UOJ reported, in Uzhhorod, UOC believers protested near the TRC over the priest's mobilization.
