Supporters of OCU shell a UOC church in Zazymye
In the village of Zazymye in the Kyiv region, supporters of the OCU shelled the Resurrection Church of the UOC, which Dumenko's associates are trying to seize. The shots were fired from a house next to the temple, which belongs to a member of the OCU community, reports the rector of the Church of All Saint Warriors in Kyiv, Archpriest Viacheslav Yakimenko, on the YouTube channel “Pravdorub’.
The priest also said that on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, supporters of the OCU tried to disrupt the liturgy by pouring glue on the lock on the front door. CCTV cameras recorded a man who approached the church with a tube of glue.
The UOC believers filed a police report.
According to Fr Viacheslav, Dumenko's supporters initiate the illegal registration of the Resurrection community of the UOC, creating a clone of the UOC community, which is necessary in order to become full owners of the temple.
UOC believers, meanwhile, gather daily to pray in the church – serving liturgy and prayers.
As earlier reported, OCU activists and a former cleric were trying to seize a UOC church in Zazymye.
