Shostatsky discusses OCU activities in Cyprus with Archbishop Chrysostomos
On September 8, 2022, "Metropolitan of Vinnytsia and Bar" Simeon (Shostatsky) discussed with the Primate of the Cypriot Church, Archbishop Chrysostomos, the activities of the OCU in Cyprus, reports the OCU website.
Shostatsky conveyed a request from the Ukrainian diaspora living in Cyprus "to promote the implementation of spiritual care for Ukrainians in Cyprus by the Ukrainian-speaking clergy".
“During the further conversation, conditions and ways were discussed for meeting the spiritual needs of the Ukrainian diaspora on the island, as well as further development of ties between the Orthodox Churches of Cyprus and Ukraine. Archbishop Chrysostomos once again confirmed his spiritual support to the OCU and the entire Ukrainian people,” the OCU said.
As earlier reported, the Cypriot hierarch spoke about his stance on the OCU after his visit to the Phanar.
