Pope: West has taken wrong path and is no model to follow
Pope Francis, head of the Roman Catholic Church, said the West is not a model to follow because it has taken the wrong path. He made the remarks in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
Speaking about the West’s demographic problems, the pontiff described it as humanity’s largest graveyard and criticized Brussels’ migration policy.
“We need people in Spain, in Italy. <...> Why doesn’t the West pursue a policy of integrating migrants?” Pope Francis said.
He also expressed the view that the West is currently “not at its highest level” and therefore is in no position to help other peoples.
As earlier reported by the UOJ, Pope Francis blessed arms supplies to Ukraine.
