Patriarch Theodore on Alexandrian Church and Phanar: We have lost our flock

Patriarch Theodore said that the Church of Alexandria and the Patriarchate of Constantinople had lost their flock, according to the Vima Orthodoxias publication.

When asked by a journalist why the ancient patriarchates are in a “state of captivity,” the head of the Alexandrian Church replied that “perhaps because we have lost our flock in our places.”

“You see this (the loss of the flock – Ed.) in the city of the Romans (in Constantinople – Ed.). You see it in Alexandria. Tomorrow I will be in the church of St. Sava to count ten, fifteen, twenty people sitting on the benches.

He said this is also the case in Antioch; moreover, claims have been made in relation to Christian shrines in Jerusalem for many years. “Hellenism is gone, rather its Christian component,” Patriarch Theodore explained.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to the head of the Alexandrian Church, the ROC has always wanted to expand its activities in Africa due to the poverty of the African population.
