On February 15, 2026, on the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord, a youth “brain-ring” on the Gospel of Matthew was held in the lower church of the Transfiguration Cathedral of the UOC in Zhytomyr. This was reported by Metropolitan Nikodym of Zhytomyr and Novohrad-Volynskyi on his Facebook page.
The intellectual game was organized for representatives of the youth centers of the Zhytomyr Eparchy of the UOC. The gathering was led by Metropolitan Nikodym.
Clergy, leaders of youth associations, and active parishioners gathered in the cathedral.
As the hierarch writes, the atmosphere was both festive and focused: the teams not only answered questions based on the Gospel text, but also discussed difficult passages, demonstrating knowledge of Scripture and the ability to work together.
Participants showed solid preparation, attentiveness to detail, and a genuine team spirit. According to the organizers, “holding such events contributes to the spiritual growth of youth, deepening knowledge of Holy Scripture, and strengthening church unity.”
As the UOJ previously reported, a Zhytomyr court overturned a verdict against a UOC priest in a “justifying Russia’s aggression” case.
