On February 15, 2026, the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord, a priest of the Mukachevo Eparchy consecrated a new chapel erected by a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman on the grounds of St George Church in the village of Tsyhanovtsi in Zakarpattia. This was reported by the press service of the Mukachevo Eparchy.

The rite of consecration was performed by Archpriest Viktor Palosh, with the participation of the parish rector, Archpriest Roman Yakubych, and clergy of the eparchy.

After a prayer for peace and for the military, the priest addressed those gathered with a homily on the importance of constant prayer for Ukraine’s servicemen and their families.

He recalled that the Church always offers prayers for the defenders of the Fatherland and asks the Lord for the swift coming of peace.

As the UOJ previously reported, a new UOC church was consecrated in Pochapky, Rivne Region.
