On February 15, 2026, a family Maslenitsa celebration took place on the grounds of the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the UOC in Khmelnytskyi, which brought together the numerous community after the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, as reported by the press service of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC.

According to the organizers, Maslenitsa gathered many parishioners.

A theatrical performance "We celebrate Maslenitsa – we prepare our souls for the fast" was organized for children, which reminded about the spiritual meaning of this period as a time of preparation for Great Lent.

The celebration was accompanied by folk treats: parishioners and guests were given more than 1,000 dumplings and 1,000 pancakes with various fillings, as well as solianka, kulesh, sausages, sweets and hot drinks.

During the event, funds were raised for a girl with a congenital heart defect who needs expensive treatment and subsequent rehabilitation. Thanks to the compassion of the faithful, part of the necessary amount was collected. The community thanked everyone who participated in organizing the celebration and supported the charitable initiative.

As the UOJ reported, the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy held a meeting with priest-surgeon Valikhnovskyi.
