At Kyiv's St. Jonas Monastery, Archbishop Jonah of Obukhiv presided over the funeral service for the warrior Heorhii, the son of Hierodeacon Mitrofan, the hierarch reported on his Facebook page.

Heorhii served in the Azov Regiment. “It is a terrible thing when a father has to bury his son,” Archbishop Jonah wrote.

As the UOJ previously reported, Kyiv’s St. Jonas Monastery was damaged in a Russian strike.
