OCU members throw a stone at the priest's house in Yasynia, Khust diocese
On October 23, 2022, at 20:55, in the village of Yasinya (Lopushanka district) of the Rakhiv district of the Transcarpathian region, supporters of the OCU attacked the house of the cleric of the St. Elias Church of the UOC Archpriest Serhiy Slisarenko, the press service of the Khust diocese reports. The raiders threw a stone at the window of the room where the underage child of the priest was. The stone fell a few centimeters from the baby's head.
The Khust diocese of the UOC expresses deep concern about the aggressive actions of the OCU, which can lead to irreparable consequences. The diocese emphasized that such actions of OCU activists against the priest and his family have taken place before.
“The fact of the attack can be regarded as an attempted murder, which has been reported to the relevant law enforcement agencies,” the press service said.
Constant threats from OCU activists also reached the dean of the Yasynia district of the Khust diocese of the UOC, Archpriest Vitaly Kemin.
Recall that the raiders of the OCU seized the Elias Church of the UOC back in 2019. The Orthodox community is trying to reclaim its temple through the court, but for now, services are held in the St. Tryphon chapel. All this time, Dumenko's supporters have been trying to evict Father Serhiy from his house, threatening the clergy of the UOC and committing provocations.
As the UOJ wrote, in the village of Chechelivka, the OCU members robbed and seized the chapel of the UOC.
