Prayer procession for peace in Ukraine takes place in Pochaiv Lavra

On October 25, 2022, after the evening service at the Pochaiv Lavra, there was a procession with a prayer for peace. The brethren of the monastery led by Metropolitan Volodymyr, along with hundreds of worshipers, walked around the holy monastery chanting prayers. The video of the procession was published on the “1 Kozak” YouTube channel.

Archpriest Vasyl Balan, the rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos in the village of Murovani Kurylivtsi, was among the numerous pilgrims.

"The procession is a blessing from God. And people have always, in all kinds of troubles and sorrows, resorted to the power of the procession, where God's grace descends on people, for whose sake we pray now for peace in our Ukraine. Today they slander the brethren, the monasteries, and believers. And they, as never before, today are the warriors of Christ. Standing and praying to God," the priest shared his impressions of the prayer procession.

Father Vasyl pointed out that, despite a weekday, many people came to pray to the Mother of God for peace, for the defenders of Ukraine, and for the well-being of their families. He urged not to be hardened at heart, seeing the persecution of the Church.

"Keep the faith, do not become embittered, when people search churches, believers, priests, etc. Just ask God for help. Those who follow Christ today will always be persecuted. We all are faithful citizens of our state. And Our Lady is not our last hope, but the first one. God, help us all," said the priest.

As reported, the National Police and the SBU inspected the Pochaiv Lavra.

Earlier, three eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held religious processions with relics of holy soldiers.
