On March 10, 2026, in Warsaw, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland, the spring session of the Synod of the Polish Orthodox Church took place. The participants of the meeting examined the current state of world Orthodoxy and paid special attention to the church situation in Ukraine.

According to the communiqué published on the website of the Polish Church, the hierarchs confirmed their unchanged position regarding the status of the so-called OCU. The Polish hierarchs emphasized that the problems arising from the creation of this structure must be resolved exclusively at an All-Orthodox Council of primates of local Churches.

The discussion of external church matters was conducted based on documents sent from the local Churches of Constantinople, Alexandria, Romania, Greece, Ukraine, and Lithuania. Despite external challenges, the Polish Church once again testified to the necessity of collective discussion of inter-church disputes and commitment to canonical order.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Metropolitan Sawa filed a complaint to Constantinople regarding the actions of the OCU in Poland.
