Monastic tonsure held at Krasnohirske Monastery in Cherkasy Eparchy

A new nun was tonsured on March 21, 2026, at the Intercession Krasnohirske Convent in the village of Bakaivka, Zolotonosha district, Cherkasy region. This was reported by the Cherkasy Pilgrim Telegram channel.

The rite of tonsure was performed by Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv.

Praying at the service were the abbess of the monastery, Igumenia Arseniya (Stetsiuk), together with the sisters and parishioners of the convent.

The Intercession Krasnohirske Convent is one of the oldest Orthodox nunneries, founded in the early seventeenth century.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a monastic tonsure was also performed at the Mykhnivka  Convent of the UOC.
