Protodeacon of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and former MP Vadym Novynskyi said a provocation was being prepared against him within the Presidential Office. He published a text document outlining a four-week “exposure campaign” aimed at portraying him as “an active Russian citizen and an agent of Russian influence.”

According to the document, Fr. Vadym is to be accused of having been integrated into Ukraine’s business and political elites as part of a special operation by Russian intelligence services and of carrying out assignments from his handlers to influence political, legislative, administrative, and public processes.

The plan reportedly calls for two posts a week on the subject, as well as official inquiries to the SBU, the Presidential Office, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the State Migration Service regarding the former MP’s passport.

“When they run out of arguments, representatives of Zelensky’s regime resort to outright slander and lies,” the clergyman said.

He noted that information about his alleged second citizenship had been repeatedly checked by the SBU and other agencies – both under Poroshenko and under Zelensky. In his view, the authorities are now trying to launch that process once again.

Fr. Vadym also pointed out that in recent times, fabricated stories have repeatedly surfaced about Ukrainian politicians and public figures allegedly holding Russian citizenship. According to him, there were even reports of forged documents being produced on a systematic basis.

“The Presidential Office reacts very painfully to any criticism directed at it,” the protodeacon added, saying that the provocation allegedly being prepared against him was entirely predictable.

Earlier, UOJ reported that, according to Fr. Vadym Novynskyi, Zelensky had promised not to interfere in the life of the Church, but deceived them.
