On April 5, 2026, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Khmelnytskyi Eparchy blessed 1,000 Easter cakes for Ukrainian defenders on the grounds of St. Nicholas Cathedral.
The rite took place on the feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem, immediately after the Divine Liturgy, according to the UOC Information Center.
The blessing was led by Metropolitan Victor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv. The cakes will be delivered to various units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front line in time for Pascha.
Transportation will be handled by the volunteer charitable organization “With Us Is God,” which cooperates with the eparchy.
The Khmelnytskyi Eparchy expressed gratitude to all benefactors who financially supported the traditional diocesan initiative for the needs of the military.
Earlier, it was reported that communities of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC had also provided assistance to Ukrainian troops.
