On April 13, 2026, Bright Monday, His Beatitude Onuphry, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Kazan Cathedral of the Holy Ascension Florus Convent in the capital, the UOC Information and Education Department reports.
Concelebrating with the Primate were vicars of the Kyiv Eparchy – Metropolitan Ioasaf of Vasylkiv, Archbishop Lavr of Irpin, and Archbishop Mark of Borodianka. Also praying at the service were the sisters of the convent together with their abbess, Mother Evlampia.
During the Liturgy, the clergy offered prayers for peace in the Ukrainian land. After the communion verse, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry’s Paschal message was read aloud in the church.
After the dismissal, the Primate congratulated the sisters and parishioners of the monastery on the feast of Pascha and distributed Paschal gifts to the youngest faithful.
Bright Week is understood by the Church as one single day – a day of universal joy and communion with the Risen Christ. During this time, nearly the same Paschal service is celebrated every day as on the very feast of Christ’s Resurrection.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that His Beatitude had presided over the Paschal night service at the Agapitus Church of the Lavra.
