On April 27, 2026, an appeal hearing was scheduled in the case concerning the termination of the Kyiv Metropolia of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) reported.

According to the published information, the hearing in case No. 855/11/25 (proceeding No. A/990/15/25) will take place in Kyiv on May 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

The court will consider the appeal filed by the UOC Kyiv Metropolia against the October 30, 2025 decision issued in the lawsuit seeking to terminate the religious organization’s activities.

The proceedings were initiated by DESS, which is seeking the forced termination of the UOC Kyiv Metropolia as a legal entity.

The upcoming hearing will be one of the key stages in the court case surrounding the status of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a court sentenced a participant in attacks on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
