On April 27, construction work began on Chornovola Street in Ivano-Frankivsk at the location where a UOC church previously stood and from which believers had been evicted, the local outlet Pravda.if reported.
Earlier, on March 31, the city’s Department of Urban Improvement announced a tender for redevelopment of the site with an expected value of UAH 5.73 million. Only one company took part in the bidding – LLC SpetsStroyMontazh-Engineering – which offered to carry out the work for UAH 5.71 million.
On April 16, a contract was signed between the department and the contractor. According to the project documentation, the contractor is to clear the site by dismantling the remaining foundations, removing construction debris, pruning trees, and uprooting stumps.
The project also envisages the installation of lighting, construction of walkways, placement of benches and trash bins, as well as landscaping, including laying a lawn and planting 160 laurel saplings. The works are scheduled for completion by August 1 of this year.
As previously reported by the UOJ, OCU activists are preparing a provocation at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Odesa.
