On May 5, 2026, TRC officers unlawfully detained and took away Hierodeacon Eulogiy, a monk of the Pochaiv Lavra. This was reported by the Telegram channel KozakTV.

Hierodeacon Eulogiy was detained while working in a field near the skete of the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra. TRC officers took him to an unknown location. Father Eulogiy’s fate remains unknown.

At the time of publication, the hierodeacon’s whereabouts had not been established. The monastic community has received no information about where the monk was taken.

As the UOJ reported, TRC officers abducted a cleric of the Bancheny Monastery but released him after a rally by believers. Cases of forced detention of clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) by TRC officers became more frequent in 2025–2026. Monastics are generally exempt from conscription under Ukrainian law, yet such incidents continue to be recorded.
