Kyiv authorities declare day of mourning for victims of missile strike

May 15 has been declared a day of mourning in Kyiv for the victims of the most powerful missile attack on the city. Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this on his Telegram channel.

The authorities ordered flags to be flown at half-mast on all municipal buildings and issued the same recommendation to state and private institutions. A complete ban on all entertainment events has also been introduced in the capital.

According to the latest figures, 24 people were killed in the May 14 strike. Among the dead were a 12-year-old girl, as well as two girls aged 15 and 17. Doctors are providing necessary care to another 24 victims who remain in city hospitals. In total, more than 50 Kyiv residents were injured.

The UOJ earlier reported that the Pope had called for the “silencing of weapons” and dialogue in Ukraine.
