On May 30, 2026, in the village of Kolonshchyna, Makariv district, Kyiv region, a meeting of residents was held, initiated by supporters of the OCU for the "transfer" of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church temple in honor of John the Theologian to Dumenko's structure. This was reported by a UOJ correspondent.
According to information from the local community, the meeting took place in the village cultural center, despite the administration's directive prohibiting such events. Earlier, the parish rector had appealed to law enforcement and government authorities with statements about possible illegal actions. As believers report, the police did not respond to the appeals.
In invitations distributed by the organizers, residents of this and neighboring villages were called to participate in voting for "changing subordination and joining the OCU," calling this a "historic moment" and a necessity to get rid of "remnants of the Russian world."
According to parishioners, as arguments against the UOC, the meeting initiators used traditional accusations of alleged ties with Moscow and "disrespect for the Armed Forces of Ukraine." The latter is connected to the rector's refusal to conduct joint services with OCU representatives.
At the same time, the religious community of the temple itself held a lawful meeting of parishioners on May 17. According to the provided information, all 56 registered community members unanimously confirmed their loyalty to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its Primate, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphrius.
Despite this, at the meeting in the cultural center, it was announced that about 270 people voted for the transfer to the OCU, who are not members of the parish's religious community.
Believers also draw attention to the fact that the temple is located on private land. According to them, any attempts at forcible seizure of the shrine would mean not only a violation of the religious community's rights, but also an encroachment on private property.
At the time of the meeting, a prayer service was being conducted in the temple, and the situation near the shrine remained calm. However, parishioners fear further attempts to seize the temple against the will of the religious community itself.
As UOJ wrote, OCU raiders sealed the UOC temple in Novye Vorobyi after the rector's mobilization.
