Authorities have published photographs of the exterior and interior of the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra following the shelling during the night of June 15, 2026. Images of the cathedral’s iconostasis and frescoes show no visible damage. The floor of the church is covered with water. One photograph shows water seeping from a suspension fixture used to support the central chandelier.
Exterior photographs reveal that the fire destroyed a large portion of the roof of the Dormition Cathedral. It remains unclear whether any load-bearing structures were damaged.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra caught fire during a Russian attack.
