Hegumen of Mount Tabor monastery reposes in the Lord

The Patriarchate of Jerusalem announced with great sorrow that on Thursday afternoon, June 18, 2026, the Hegumen of the Holy Monastery of Mount Tabor, Archimandrite Hilarion Gramenos, fell asleep in the Lord, reports the press service of the Jerusalem Patriarchate.

The departed served with zeal for many years in various ministries, mainly at the H. Monastery of the Transfiguration in Mount Tabor, which he also renovated.

It was through the labors of Father Hilarion that the historic complex on the mountaintop acquired its present splendid appearance.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 12 noon at the H. Monastery of Tabor, by Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem.

As the UOJ reported, one of the most senior clergymen of the UOC has reposed in the Lord.
