Phanar head discusses shelling of Ukrainian shrines with Greek consul in Kherson

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received Panteleimon Boubouras, Greece’s Honorary Consul in Kherson and a prominent businessman, at his residence in Istanbul, VEMA reports.
The two discussed the current situation in Ukraine, particularly the continuing attacks on civilian infrastructure and Orthodox churches. Boubouras, who is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and conducts business in Ukraine, gave the head of the Phanar a detailed account of the consequences of the shelling.
Following the meeting, the philanthropist praised the Patriarch’s awareness of developments in Ukraine.
“I am always impressed not only by the fact that our Patriarch cares about Ukraine and the Ukrainian faithful, but also by his profound knowledge of what is taking place in the country,” Panteleimon Boubouras said.
As the UOJ reported, Zelensky discussed the strike on the Lavra with Patriarch Bartholomew.
