On June 23, 2026, in Brussels, a delegation of the AUCCRO held a meeting with European Commissioner Marta Kos. During the conversation, the religious figures emphasized that Ukrainian society had determined its development vector on the “two Maidans.”

The members of the delegation stated that the churches and religious organizations of Ukraine are an integral part of civil society, and therefore they fully support the country’s accession process to the European Union.

Marta Kos welcomed the religious leaders and spoke about the opening of the first negotiation cluster between the EU and Ukraine. She noted the importance of combating propaganda in candidate countries and praised the efforts to carry out reforms during the military conflict. The sides discussed the role of denominations in the “consolidation of society” and the prospects for cooperation on post-war reconstruction.

The delegation included OCU head Epifaniy Dumenko, Yevstratiy Zorya, head of the UGCC Department for External Relations Oleksa Petriv, and Roman Catholic bishop Vitaliy Kryvytskyi. At the end of the talks, the AUCCRO representatives presented the European official with a commemorative medal issued for the 30th anniversary of their organization.

Earlier, members of the AUCCRO delegation had already called for Ukraine to be admitted to the EU at a meeting with European experts and religious figures in Brussels.
