On the eve of the commemoration of St. Onuphrius the Great, a festive All-Night Vigil was celebrated at St. Panteleimon’s Monastery in Feofania on the occasion of the name day of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine.
The service was led by His Beatitude Onuphry. He was concelebrated by a host of bishops and priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Pilgrims and parishioners of the monastery prayed together with the clergy during the All-Night Vigil.
On June 25, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church celebrates the name day of its Primate. It was in honor of St. Onuphrius the Great that the future First Hierarch, Orest Berezovsky, received monastic tonsure on March 18, 1971, and was given the name Onuphrius.
The celebrations in Feofania marked the beginning of festive services dedicated to the heavenly patron of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
As the UOJ reported, Metropolitan Onuphry said that holy is one who cannot be separated from God's love.
