In the town of Hoshcha, Rivne region, TRC employees detained the cleric of the Intercession Monastery of the UOC, Archpriest Vadym Muliar, reports the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC.
According to the eparchy, on June 23, 2026, the clergyman was stopped near his home by police officers under the pretext of a document check. He was then taken to a Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) and subsequently sent to Rivne to undergo a military medical commission.
Despite the fact that the priest recently underwent surgery on his leg and has relevant medical indications, on June 24 the commission deemed him fit for military service.
The eparchy stated that the clergyman continues to be held at the TRC. They expressed concern about his health condition and called on the faithful to pray for the cleric.
As the UOJ reported, the TRC in Lutsk claimed that the detained father-of-three deacon of UOC volunteered to serve.
