A series of powerful explosions that shook Pavlohrad on June 22, 2026, virtually destroyed the home of UOC clergyman Oleksandr Zaychenko. This was reported by Archbishop Jonah (Cherepanov) on his Facebook page.

At the moment of the tragedy, the priest was inside with his matushka and young children — three-year-old Sofia and one-year-old Serafim. The blast wave shook the building, windows were shattered to pieces, and holes were left in the roof. The family miraculously survived, sustaining only minor scratches.

However, the house has become uninhabitable. "We continue to live in this house, as there is nowhere else to go. The roof needs to be completely replaced and the windows re-glazed to protect ourselves and the children from any bad weather and the coming winter," the hierarch conveys the priest's words and publishes the donation details.

As the UOJ reported, St. Nicholas's Church in Dnipro was damaged as a result of a nighttime Russian shelling.
