UOC Chancellor consecrates church in Boryspil

On June 28, 2026, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanych) of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, performed the rite of the great consecration of a new church in Boryspil, reports Metropolitan Anthony on his Facebook page.

The hierarch was co-served by the dean of the district, Archpriest Oleksandr Bondar, the rector of the church, Archpriest Andriy Oliynyk, the local clergy, and guests in holy orders.

During the Little Entrance, the hierarch presented liturgical awards to the clergy of St. Elijah's Church. After the reading of the Gospel, Metropolitan Anthony addressed the faithful with a sermon. During the Liturgy, the community offered special prayers for peace in Ukraine.

At the conclusion of the celebration, the bishop congratulated the rector of the church, Archpriest Andriy Oliynyk, on his 50th birthday and the parishioners on the consecration of the new church.

As the UOJ reported, a church in the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy of the UOC was consecrated after restoration.
