During ceremonies marking Constitution Day of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded OCU leader Epifaniy Dumenko the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, Fifth Class. The OCU press service reported the award.

The event took place at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and was attended by government officials, members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, and military chaplains.

In addition to Dumenko, other OCU clerics also received state honors. Valentyn Horokhovskyi was awarded the Order of Merit, Third Class, while Vasyl Fedorenko received the Medal “For Military Service to Ukraine.”

As the UOJ previously reported, an OCU cleric compared Zelensky to the Prophet Moses. Speaking during the events marking the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Constitution near the Dormition Cathedral, Valentyn Horokhovskyi drew a parallel between the president’s actions and the Old Testament account of the Israelites in battle.
