The OCU is planning to seize the historic Intercession Church of the Boryspil Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Ploske, Kyiv region. This was reported by the DOZOR Telegram channel.
OCU activists are spreading calls in local groups for residents to come to a “general meeting” near the House of Culture. The organizers describe the church’s religious community as a “structural unit of the UOC” and claim that any residents of the settlements who own real estate may influence the community’s decisions.
DOZOR notes that such actions directly violate the law and the rights of the religious community. According to the channel, the organizers are attempting to convene the territorial community instead of the religious community in order to substitute the legitimate decision of parishioners.
As the UOJ reported, an OCU “hierarch” recently explained the tiny number of transfers from the UOC.
