The Iconography Department of the Odesa Theological Seminary, named after Nun Taisia, trains specialists in icon painting, mosaics, mural painting, and icon restoration. The curriculum also includes all forms of gilding. Students are provided accommodation on the grounds of the Archangel Michael Convent in Odesa.
Applicants must pass a creative entrance examination in drawing and painting, as well as an interview. Entrance exams will begin on August 20, while applications will be accepted through August 19.
The program lasts four years.
Enrollment is also open at the St. Luke Iconography School in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The school accepts Orthodox young men and women between the ages of 16 and 25.
The program combines practical and theoretical studies. Students also complete copying practice, liturgical practice, educational teaching practice, and professional teaching placements.
The course of study lasts three years and ten months.
More detailed information about admissions, entrance exam requirements, and contact information is available through the schools’ official resources.
As the UOJ reported, Kyiv’s theological schools have also begun accepting applications for the new academic year.
