An LGBT book without an age rating was found on a shelf with toys in the Ukrainian supermarket ATB. This was reported by a user of the social network Threads @arturkyiv.

According to the author of the post, he accidentally picked up a book by Nadiya Bila titled "In Love" from a basket with toys, which also contained children's literature. According to him, the book was lying "right on top, in plain sight, as if it were something ordinary" – without any age restriction markings. At the same time, the cover depicts two men kissing. The user noted that finding such a publication in the toy section shocked him.

The author of the post noted that he has a ten-year-old son – "exactly the age when one's worldview, preferences, and life stance are being formed." He raised the question: how acceptable is it to sell such publications in the children's section without an age restriction, if no corresponding law or regulatory act exists? "Maybe I am too conservative," the user wrote, but emphasized that the book had been placed there "simply as something ordinary."

As the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported, a bill in support of gender equality and LGBT was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Nevertheless, no specific legislative regulation governing the placement of LGBT-themed books in children's retail sections has yet been adopted in Ukraine, which is precisely the issue the author of the viral post called into question.
