More than 5,000 faithful took part in the traditional religious procession to the St. John the Theologian Monastery in the village of Khreshchatyk on the eve of the Feast of the Nativity of the Holy Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, as reported on the Facebook page of the faithful of the Chernivtsi Eparchy.
The procession participants have covered about 40 kilometers, unceasingly offering prayers for peace in Ukraine, Ukrainian soldiers, their families, and all those who suffer. The prayer procession concluded at the main church of the Khreshchatyk Monastery, the Annunciation Cathedral, where the pilgrims performed a kneeling prayer to the Lord and the Most Holy Theotokos.
Behind every religious procession are not only miles of walking, but also personal prayers, hopes, and gratitude to God. Orthodox Christians from Bukovina shared why they undertake this spiritual journey.

According to the published route, the pilgrims set out from the Intercesssion Church of the Most Holy Theotokos in Chernivtsi on 37 Kashtanova Street. The procession then passes through Zadubrivka, Shubranets, Vaslovivtsi, Maly Kuchurov, Zastavna, Chunkov, Kadubivtsi, Kulivtsi, and Zveniachyn.
