In early July, several eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held charity meals and distributed hot lunches to people facing difficult life circumstances, the UOC Social Department reported.

In the Poltava Eparchy, weekly charity meals were organized in churches and monasteries on July 5 after the Divine Liturgy. Parishioners and all those in need of assistance were able to take part.

At the Intercession Cathedral in Oleksandria, weekly hot meals are also offered to those in need. In addition, on July 2, the Church of the Holy Great Martyrs Theodore Tyron and Anastasia the Deliverer from Potions hosted its 56th charity meal.

Social ministry also continues at the UOC’s Resurrection Cathedral in Rivne. Every Saturday, volunteers and parishioners distribute hot lunches to those in need of support.

This time, the meal for the needy was prepared by the parish in honor of the Resurrection of Christ in the village of Kozlyn. The UOC Social Department noted that such assistance is aimed at supporting people who have found themselves in hardship.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that two tons of aid from UOC volunteers had been delivered to the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
