During his visit to the Holy Mountain of Athos, Epifaniy Dumenko visited the St. Elijah Skete of Pantokrator Monastery, where an icon of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers – Emperor Nicholas II and his family – is kept. This was reported by the Dozor Telegram channel, which analyzed photographs published from the trip.
According to images that appeared online after the visit, the interior of the skete church contains icons of St. Seraphim of Sarov and the Holy Royal Martyrs.
Media outlets note that while in the church, representatives of the OCU made no public statements or objections regarding the veneration of these saints.
As the UOJ previously reported, the OCU covered frescoes of saints with Ukrainian flags in a seized church in Odesa.
