Around one thousand faithful gathered for the patronal feast of the community dedicated to St. Stephen the Great in the town of Krasnoilsk, the faithful of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC reported on Facebook.
The festive service on July 15, 2026, brought together believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as well as pilgrims from the Romanian and Moldovan Orthodox Churches. A delegation headed by the Romanian consul also attended the celebration.
The Divine Liturgy was led by Archimandrite Nectarie (Herman), abbot of the Monastery of the Holy Prince Vladimir in Horești, which belongs to the Moldovan Orthodox Church. Clergy of the Romanian Orthodox Church and priests from the Storozhynets Deanery of the Chernivtsi Eparchy concelebrated with the parish rector, Archpriest Ilie Herman.
During the Liturgy, the clergy offered prayers for peace in Ukraine, deliverance from the enemy and the protection of those who have lost their homes. The sermon was delivered by Mitred Archpriest Constantin Ciobotaru, rector of the Holy Trinity parish in the village of Bahrinivka.
At the conclusion of the celebrations, the rector of the Krasnoilsk church thanked the clergy and parishioners for their common prayer on the day of the patronal feast.
As the UOJ previously reported, the village of Pyshky in the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy marked the 255th anniversary of its Church of the Protection of the Mother of God.
