On the eve of the feast day of St. Athanasius the Athonite, the Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC held its traditional cross procession to the convent dedicated to the saint in the village of Stalnivtsi. This was reported by a UOJ correspondent.

On July 17, 2025, the procession set out from the town of Novoselytsia. Around 200 faithful walked the 32-kilometer route to the holy monastery to take part in the festive services.

The participants prayed together, glorifying St. Athanasius the Athonite and asking the Lord for peace, help, and spiritual strength.

The eparchy shared its impressions of the pilgrimage, noting that the journey became a true testimony of faith and prayerful unity: “Bruised knees, hundreds of steps, and a child’s sincere prayer – joy at the end of the road.”

As the UOJ reported, one thousand UOC faithful celebrated the patronal feast in Krasnoilsk.
