Oleksandriia Eparchy marks St. Nicholas of Iskrivka anniversary

The 25th anniversary of the glorification of Hieromartyr Nicholas of Iskrivka was prayerfully commemorated at the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the village of Iskrivka, Kirovohrad Region, in the UOC’s Oleksandriia Eparchy. The eparchy’s press service reported the event.

The Divine Liturgy on July 17, 2026, was led by Metropolitan Boholep of Oleksandriia and Svitlovodsk, together with clergy of the eparchy and visiting priests.

Special prayers were offered during the service for peace in Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, and the country’s soldiers. After the Liturgy, the clergy and faithful held a cross procession around the church, praying to Hieromartyr Nicholas.

Hundreds of pilgrims from across Ukraine traveled to Iskrivka for the feast to honor the saint’s memory and pray at the site of his ministry.

Hieromartyr Nicholas of Iskrivka, born Mykola Mykhailychenko, served as rector of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the village of Iskrivka. In 1919, during the persecution of the Church, he suffered martyrdom for his faithfulness to Christ. Shortly before his death, the saint said that the Lord had revealed to him the martyrdom that awaited him. In 2000, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church glorified Fr. Nicholas as a saint. His holy relics were later uncovered and became a place of prayerful veneration for the faithful.

As the UOJ reported, a cross procession with an ark containing the relics of the saints of Oleksandriia was held in Znamyanka.
