American blogger Laura Loomer, who interviewed Volodymyr Zelensky the day before, said that there are no Muslims left in Ukraine and described this as "refreshing." She made the remarks in a post on her X account.

Following her meeting with Zelensky, Loomer said she had not seen a single Muslim in Ukraine and called it a "refreshing" contrast with the situation in Western countries.

Her comments drew criticism. Journalists from Pershyi Kozatskyi described Loomer's remarks as an expression of xenophobia and religious intolerance. They also pointed to what they called a contradiction in the Ukrainian authorities' position: Zelensky personally records an interview with someone who openly expresses Islamophobic views, while Ukraine's Muslim religious organizations are members of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, which supported the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

As previously reported by the UOJ, Zelensky extended greetings to Ukraine's Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
