The eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held summer camps and theological meetings for youth. These initiatives helped participants deepen their knowledge of the faith foundations and spend their holidays with spiritual benefit, reports the UOC Information and Educational Department.
Kyiv hosted a youth educational project Theological Weekend, bringing together believers from different parts of the country. Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka, rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, addressed the audience with a report on the role of women in the Church. The youth also discussed questions of biblical studies and pressing issues of modern society with theologians and representatives of monasticism.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Theodore, the Mukachevo Eparchy held a theological evening around a campfire in the town of Irshava. At St. Basil’s Church, young families, teenagers, and children received pastoral guidance on making spiritual choices and living as Christians in the twenty-first century. During the discussion, the clergy and young people explored the importance of sincerity in faith and ways to meet the challenges of the modern world.
At the Ascension Church in Poltava, the children’s camp Ascension Holidays concluded its program. Throughout the week, the organizers combined communal prayer with creative activities, pilgrimage trips, and outdoor games. The camp became a place of spiritual growth for the children and a valuable opportunity to receive a Christian upbringing.
In the Volyn Eparchy, a summer tent camp On the Wave of Joy – 2026 opened in the village of Vesnianka, Kivertsi Deanery. The first day of the session was devoted to setting up the campsite, getting acquainted, and praying together. Before the camp officially opened, the clergy celebrated a service, offering prayers for the children, their mentors, their parents, and Ukraine.
Such annual initiatives of the UOC eparchies contribute to the strengthening of Orthodox youth. The organization of such events creates a space for live communication, learning and Christian service for the younger generation.
As the UOJ reported, the Vinnytsia Eparchy held the Zion Orthodox festival.
