Metropolitan Pavel leads patronal feast of Horodok Monastery Skete

Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl led the patronal feast at the Holy Righteous Anna Skete. On August 7, 2026, the feats day of the Dormition of the heavenly patroness of the monastery, hierarchs of the UOC celebrated the festive Liturgy and held a religious procession, reports the Rivne Eparchy.

Before the start of the festive service, the hierarchs, clergy, and faithful solemnly welcomed a copy of the wonderworking Kasper Icon of the Mother of God. Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail presented this holy image to Abbess Mikhaila in honor of a jubilee. From now on, the brought holy icon will permanently reside at the skete of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC, where pilgrims can venerate the wonderworking icon.

During the festive Divine Liturgy Metropolitan Pavel was concelebrated by hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and numerous clergy. At the Little Entrance, by the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, in connection with the 45th birthday, His Eminence Pavel awarded the secretary of the Rivne Eparchy the Order of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr, First Degree.

After the reading of the Holy Gospel, the hierarch addressed the faithful with a homily. He called upon the faithful to emulate the faith, profound humility, and piety of Saint Righteous Anna.

At the conclusion of the Liturgy, the clergy and laity performed a religious procession around the church and also blessed the water from the local healing spring. During the festive services, the clergy and numerous pilgrims offered prayers for peace in Ukraine, its defenders, and asked God's blessing for all the people of country.

As the UOJ reported, the Lavra abbot concelebrated with His Beatitude in Boryspil after a long break.
