On August 8, 2026, the UOC Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Affairs provided assistance to 100 displaced families in Kyiv, the UOC Social Department reports.
The distribution was organized by the Mission of Mercy team, which regularly supports people forced to leave their homes because of the war.
The Social Department noted that helping displaced people remains one of the mission’s key areas of work. Families in need receive humanitarian aid packages containing essential food and other necessities.
Since the beginning of 2026, the Mission of Mercy has distributed 2,500 humanitarian aid packages, providing assistance to thousands of families facing difficult circumstances.
In addition, as part of its “Stories of Those We Help” project, mission staff share the stories of people who have endured severe hardships but continue to hold on to their faith, hope and strength of spirit.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the parish of St. Nicholas Church in Dnipro had delivered aid to residents of the Kherson region.
