Religious procession to Vashkivtsi monastery begins in Bukovyna

On August 13, 2026, in Bukovyna, the UOC faithful began a religious procession to the Convent of the Holy Righteous Anna in the town of Vashkivtsi. The procession is taking place on the eve of the patronal feast of the Maccabean Martyrs, reports a UOJ correspondent.

A large column of pilgrims is moving through the streets of Vashkivtsi toward the monastery. Among the participants of the religious procession are clergy, adults, and children. The faithful are carrying crosses, church banners, and icons of the Mother of God, accompanying the procession with prayer.

The religious procession is heading to the Convent of the Holy Righteous Anna, where believers from various parishes of Bukovyna traditionally gather for the patronal feast.

At the convent, the pilgrims will take part in the festive worship services in honor of the Holy Maccabean Martyrs.

Previously, the UOJ reported that in Oleksandrivka, the faithful held a religious procession to the site of Virgin Mary’s apparition.
